Patricia Fay Memorial Fund
One change that the committee made in 2010 BDFAS was to place a large part of the Society’s reserves with the Patricia Fay Memorial Fund (PFMF) rather than in a bank deposit account. The reasons for this were that we would not only have instant access to the money on loan with the Fund but such a deposit would benefit the aims and ideals of the NADFAS movement.

Gift Aid
The UK government's Gift Aid scheme allows charities to claim back from the Treasury the basic rate of tax paid on gifts made to charities. Whilst BDFAS is not registered as a charity NADFAS is, and they can claim back the tax on the affiliation fee we pay them each year for each member of our Society who signs a Gift Aid Declaration.
The Gift Aid recovered by NADFAS on the fees goes into the Patricia Fay Memorial Fund. To compensate our Society for the work we do to collate the Gift Aid Declarations, NADFAS gives us £1 for each member who signs a Declaration. This is known as the NADFAS rebate.
