2011 Projects
In 2011 the Society provided grants to Bromley Road Infant School and Balgowan Primary School to fund workshops provided by the educational charity Magic Lantern.
In June the Society provided a grant of £280 to support workshops at Bromley Road Infant School during their Arts Week.
In November the Society provided a grant of £200 to support workshops at Balgowan Primary School.
The workshops were tailored to the age group and the areas of art and sculpture being studied in the schools. The interactive sessions were designed to bring to life famous works of art and sculpture, help children to learn how to enjoy them, and inspire them to create their own work.
Images of the children’s artwork are shown left.

YOUNG ARTS

Young Arts provides exciting opportunities for children and young people to expand their horizons through their involvement in creative arts activities. It aims to inspire young people with a lasting enthusiasm for the arts and an awareness of our arts heritage and its conservation. Beckenham Decorative and Fine Arts Society has supported Young Arts projects for a number of years.
